shown below are hand-crafted by African American artist Shirley Newton
of Reading, Pennsylvania. All dolls are wooden and
fully clothed. A great deal of detail has been put into
creating their outfits and accessories. |

OLIVE
Olive is named
after a deceased aunt of artist Shirley Newton.
Olive has eyeglasses and is wearing a gaberdine pin-striped 2-piece suit
with a black and gold dickie. She stands
approximately 26 inches tall. Artist - Shirley Newton.

-TOP HAT DOLL
Top Hat Doll is
approximately 36 inches high and is poised in a sitting
position. Her outfit is made of polyester loops.
She has 2 inch life-size hoop earrings. Shoes are
embellished with glass-type beads. She wears
glasses and has jewelry on her hands and fingers. Artist
- Shirley Newton. Price: $900.

-SORORITY VINTAGE DOLLS
Artist Shirley
Newton has created the perfect pair of sorority sisters
of yesteryear. Amanda on the right wears a black velvet
dress and holds a satin black umbrella. She sports
a vintage pearl necklace and rhinestone beaded purse.
She also has gloves. Her sorority sister on the
left, Bessie, is the entertainer and holds a mock silver
chalis. Bessie's dress is made of multi-colored
sequins. Each doll is approximately 23 inches tall.

-THE GOSSIPERS
Sold only as a
pair -- these gossipers keep each other in the know.
Both dolls are approximately 25 inches tall. Both
wear glasses. Delpha on the left has a faux fur
coat, worn over a 2-piece outfit that has a lace skirt.
Nan, on the right, has a beige lace dress with a black
faux fur stole and red straw hat. Artist - Shirley
Newton.

AFRICAN-ATTIRED DOLL
This doll has a
stunning African presence, from head to toe. She
has a bold collar necklace and loop earrings and a
basket on her head. She stands approximately 30
inches tall. Artist - Shirley Newton.
